Covid-19 sample testing has started in Magura through 'Gene Expert' machine from Monday morninh.
Advocate Saifuzzaman Shikhar, MP from Magura-1 constituency inaugurated the testing activities at the Tuberculosis Hospital in Magura town's Vaina area as the chief guest.
Magura Deputy Commissioner Ashraful Alam, Civil Surgeon Dr Pradeep Kumar Saha, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Abu Nasir Bablu, Sadar Upazila Health Officer Dr Abdus Salam and others were present during the inauguration organised by District Health Department.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Pradeep Kumar Saha said, “Earlier the test of Tuberculosis was done with the help of this 'Gene Expert' machine. According to recent international research, corona testing was possible on this machine. That's why a sophisticated gene expert machine has been brought here”.
From Magura Covid-19 samples were sent to other places including Jessore, due to lack of testing facilities. This was quite time consuming. From now on, Corona test results will be available on this machine in just 1 hour.
This machine will be able to issue 4 reports per hour.
Speaking on the occasion, Saifuzzaman Shikhar MP said, “On the occasion of the 74th birth anniversary of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the 'Gene Expert' machine came as a special gift for the people of Magura. Its main function is to identify the Tuberculosis patient and to test the corona in a short time”.
