Corona infections down in Jhenaidah

The number of infestation of the corona patients have decreased in bordering district Jhenaidah. Three persons had died with the havoc, while 17 new cases were detected in the district in last 24 hours. The number of total death was toll to 100 so far, said the health department office sources.

To make the strict lockdown success, Bangladesh Army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and police have been patrolling in the town and baring people not to move unnecessary. District administration had set up a number of check posts to control the massive movement. 

Civil Surgeon Dr. Salina Begum said they received the test report of 59 cases where 17 were tested positive with corona virus. Of the total infected 11 are undergoing treatment at Jhenaidah Sadar hospital, two in Shailkupa, three in Kaliganj and one in Kotchandpur. Further, three had died at Jhenaidah Sadar hospital in last 24 hours. The number of total infestation rose to 4,591, while the death toll to 100 so far, civil surgeon said.

To maintain the strict lockdown, the local administration had set up check posts at Arappur, Jhenaidah central bus terminal. Hamdah, Mujibchatter, Pairachatter and some other points where the police, BGB and Army personnel have been attending. The mobile courts from the district administration have been conducting drives to control the unruly people who have been breaching the rules during the lockdown.

Second East Bengal Regiment company commander at Jashore Cantonment Captain Mohammad Tanjimul Anwar when contacted said they have been furnishing duty as a part of their third day strict lockdown so that the people could not move unnecessary. 

They have been checking the people whether they are maintaining health guidelines, movement of vehicles except emergency service providers’ vehicles etc., Captain Mohammad Tanjimul Anwar said.
