Corona infection and death toll is on the rise in Bogura. In the last 24 hours till Saturday morning, 6 people have died of corona infection while 18 others died with Corona like symptoms.
The infection rate on the day stood at 41.73 percent in the district
All the 24 deceased were undergoing treatment at two hospitals in the district. The identified 6 Corona patients that died on the day have been identified as Shishir Chandra (70) of Dupchanchia, Rahmatullah (83) of Sadar upazila, Jahanara (73) of Sherpur, Samed Ali (95) of Gabtali, Chan Mia (45) of Sherpur and Selina (69) of Sadar upazila. Deputy Civil Surgeon of Bogura district Dr Mostafizur Rahman Tuhin informed this in an online briefing at 11am on Saturday. In the meantime, within the period of 24 hours till Saturday morning, 144 new Corona patients have been identified in the district after testing the 345 samples.
Out of these 144 new patients, 126 were identified in the PCR lab of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (Shajimek), 8 were identified from the samples sent to Dhaka and 10 were identified in the PCR lab of TMSS Medical College. Of the newly identified Corona patiens, 100 are from Sadar upazila, 14 from Sonatla, 13 from Gabtali, 10 from Dupchanchia, 3 from Shajahanpur and one each from Shibganj, Adamdighi, Sherpur and Kahalu upazila.
In the same period, 136 people have recovered from Corona infection in the district.
It has been reported that a total of 17,852 people have been affected by corona virus in the district so far. Of these, 15,422 have recovered and 533 have died. Besides, 1,897 people in the district are undergoing Corona infection treatment.
