A police constable was killed in a road accident on the Parbatipur-Phulbari Highway at Parbatipur upazila in Dinajpur district on Saturday night.
The accident took place around 11pm at Chandapara area under the upazila.
Deceased Hridoy Roy, a constable of Dinajpur Police Lines, was heading towards Parbatiput from Phulbari riding on a motorcycle. On the way, a speeding truck ran over his motorcycle at Chandapara area, leaving him dead on the spot, said locals. It was known that Hridoy was listening to music with earphones on when the truck rammed his bike. Parbatipur Police Station OC Chittya Ranjan Roy said being informed, police recovered the body.
from the spot and the legal actions were being taken in this regard.
