Shah Sultan MCS co-operative society escaped with Tk 100 crore by deception its customers. Their main office and branch offices remained closed in Narsingdi. Director and employees are absent and their contacts numbers are also seem to be closed.
Around 800 receivers become destitute overnight losing their money. Many are relentlessly visiting district co-operation office and district administration office for getting their money back and some litigate against the institution.
According to sources, Shah Sultan MCS co-operative society was register from district co-operative society in 2010 and the register number is 95. Later they opened their branches in different places in the city in expensive buildings. They took money from the poor and middle class people in the allurement of high profit.
Also this institution allures the people in the name of different savings scheme with high profit.
Buruj Mia a depositor said, “I deposited altogether Tk 40 lakh selling my land and the savings of my wife and children. Now their office is closed and their phone numbers is also unreachable. We request the concerned authorities intervention to get our money back.”

Salam Iqbal, an employee of District co-operative society ensured that the objection will be examined and if found guilty their license will be canceled.
Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Narsingdi Superintendent of Police Md. Enayet Hossain Mannan said, “The investigation report will be sent to the court after conducting a fair and impartial investigation into all the investigations received by the PBI.”
Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner Abu Naeem Mohammad Maruf Khan said, “We have already discussed the matter in the meeting of the District Coordinating Committee and the District Cooperative Officer has been given the responsibility. He will investigate it soon. Necessary action will be taken after receiving the report.”
