Chief Coordinator for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Zuena Aziz on Monday sought cooperation from all religious leaders in implementing the SDGs as the commoners mostly believe their speeches and abide by those, reports BSS.

The SDG affairs chief sought the cooperation while addressing a dialogue titled ‘Role of Imams and Religious Leaders in Formulation Process of Documents on Voluntary National Review of SDGs’ at the conference room of Islamic Foundation (IF) in the city’s Agargaon area, said a press release.

‘Islam is the complete code of life. The religion Islam encourages the rich people to lend money to poor without interest, which can play a vital role in poverty alleviation,’ she said. Noting that all religions speak about justice, welfare and people, Zuena said the religions teach people about what they should do and should not do. Secretary of Religious Affairs Ministry Md. Nurul Islam addressed the dialogue as the special guest with IF Director General Anis Mahmud in the chair. Over 100 representatives from the religions of Islam, Hindu, Buddhists and Christian took part in the dialogue.
