Controversy helps people to be creative: Mohibul

Deputy Minister of Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel has inaugurated the first inter-school English national debate competition organized by Bangladesh Television Chattogram Center.

 Bangladesh Television Deputy Director General Anup Kumar Khastgir presided over the drama studio of Bangladesh Television Chattogram Center on Friday.  Former Ambassador of Myanmar Major (retd) Emdadul Islam, Dr Adnan Mannan, Professor of Genetic Engineering Department of Chattogram University were present as special guests in the event.  Bangladesh Television Chattogram Center General Manager Mahfuza Akhtar delivered the welcome address on the occasion.

 Deputy Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel said that debate helps people to be creative.  As the communication skills of the students will increase through the English course, research practice will also increase among them.  Besides this type of debate competition will be helpful in their academic life.  He praised the organizers for organizing such English debate competition at the national level from Chattogram.

 Speakers said that although Bengali debate competitions are usually held at the national level, this type of English debate is very rare.  Speakers believe that this will increase students' linguistic and communication skills.  64 schools across the country including Chattogram are participating in this English debate competition.  Elon Safir is producing the program under the general supervision of Bangladesh Television Chattogram Center General Manager Mahfuza Akhtar.
