Controversial cop transferred to Chattogram Range

Additional Superintendent of Police Moharram Ali, who came under discussion in the incident of police baton charge on Chhatra League leaders and activists in Barguna on National Mourning Day, has been removed from duty and transferred to Chattogram range. 

Besides, five more policemen were transferred in this incident. Barisal Range DIG SM Aktaruzzaman confirmed the matter in Wednesday.

 He said, for the sake of investigation, Additional Superintendent of Police Moharram Ali has been transferred to Chattogram range, not Barisal range.

 Besides, five more policemen have also been transferred in this incident. 

The DIG also said that the details of the whole matter will be given after the investigation. District Chhatra League President and General Secretary went to Bangabandhu Memorial Complex to lay flowers on the occasion of Bangabandhu's martyrdom anniversary last Monday afternoon.

While returning after laying wreaths on the portrait of Bangabandhu, when they reached Shilpakala Academy, they were attacked by members of the disaffected group of Chhatra League.

The leaders and activists of the two groups clashed. 

At that time, the police came to the scene and charged the angry activists with batons to control the situation. A three-member investigation committee headed by Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) SM Tarek Rahman was formed in this incident.  Moharram Ali was transferred to Chattogram Range before the investigation report was submitted.
