Construction worker dies falling from JU dorm

 A construction worker died after falling from an under-construction dormitory of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Thursday afternoon. 

The deceased Shaher Ali (25), lost balance and fell from the 6th floor of Hall no 22, adjacent to the Shaheed Rafiq-Jabbar Hall of the university while he was descending from the 6th floor.

Critically injured Shaher was rushed to Enam Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. 

Yusuf Ali, in-charge of Enam Medical College Hospital, said, "A man named Shaher Ali was brought to the hospital with serious injuries.  However, he died earlier.”

“I think he died of a serious brain injury.  There were also serious injuries to the legs", he added. 

Mohammad Nasir Uddin, project director of the university, told to the Bangladesh Post that, “I was informed that a worker died after falling from the sixth floor of Hall No. 22. He fell while he was descending from the 6th floor.” 

JU Proctor A S M Firoz-ul-Hasan said, “After hearing about the injured worker, we immediately went to the spot and rescued him and send him to Enam Medical College Hospital.
