Construction work of the historic Ekdala Dakshin Para Jame Mosque and graveyard in Kapasia Upazila’s Durgapur Union was inaugurated on Tuesday.
Deputy Press Secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Ashraful Alam Khokon was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony.
Abu Saeed Chowdhury Babul, Managing Director of Abul Khair Group, was the inaugural speaker at the ground-breaking ceremony of mosque, presided over by Borhan Uddin Ahmed, former principal of Taraganj School and College.
Kapasia UZ Chairman and District AL unit President Md. Amanat Hossain Khan, social activists Ali Mansur Kiran, Zahidul Haque Dilip and others were present while Principal of Ekdala Awalia Madrasa Maulana Mubarak Hossain offered prayers.
