Inspired Bangladesh national football team are upbeat when they will play their second FIFA Friendly match today against the hosts Bhutan at the Changlimithang Stadium.
Bangladesh team, who won their first match by a solitary goal, are morally boosted up but they will need improvement for today’s match, as they had to struggle much to escape with a minimum margin win in the first match.
Bangladesh booters are also very much aware of about their task that they will have to demonstrate better performances if they want to keep up their winning streak.
But one of the vital performers, forward Rakib Hossain, who had injury in the last match will not available for today’s match.
Assistant coach Hassan al Mamun informed that it was not a major injury and he (Rakib) will not take time for recovery.
Bhutan, who have a pleasant memory of 3-1 win in 2016 will try at their best to make comeback to win the match and it may be a much tougher test lies for the visitors today.
In the first match hosts Bhutan or Bangladesh players could play with out-and-out domination when both the sides exhibited dull game, specially Bangladesh were unable to register a more emphatic score.
Bangladesh, though started well and scored straight in the very fifth minute, but after the goal lost some of their self-confidence. Unfortunately, they were not sharper after the break and could not show their courage with vertical football and high pressure, in order to create quite a few chances again, which was not a positive sign.
One of the most senior booters of the Bangladesh, the centre-back Topu Barman, after their practice sessions on Friday said that they are morally boosted and confident after the first match triumph, and upbeat to continue the winning spree.
“You see, we have no option but to win match on Sunday, we have crossed the first match hurdle match which was important for us, so we are morally boosted up.”
“I think we are very positive and confident which is very important for our next match. If we keep up our temperament and commitment, I think we’ll be able to win the second match as well,” Topu said through a video message on Friday.
“We have been working hard since we are here in Bhutan, the first match victory was the outcome of a team work,” said the experienced defender.
Bangladesh players suffered of breathing trouble due to high altitude and took time to adjust with the condition. Topu said, “Early arrival in Bhutan for the match helped the players fully adapt to the local weather condition which has been important for us.”
Team manager Amer Khan said that the players were tensed with the first match – “We had bitter experiences at this ground against Bhutan in 2016, but we could left the field with win in the first match and the boys are taking preparation for the second match.”
