Community Policing Day celebrated in Ctg

Community Policing Day was celebrated by Chattogram Metropolitan Police and Community Policing. Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) with the theme of Community Policing ‘Peace and order everywhere.’

On this occasion, the program started with a colorful rally from the headquarters of Chattogram Metropolitan Police Lines in Dampara on Saturday morning.  Later, Chattogram City Corporation Mayor M Rezaul Karim Chowdhury was present as the chief guest in the function organized under the chairmanship of CMP Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy.

CCC Mayor in his speech paid tribute to the contribution of policemen in the war of independence and praised the role of policemen during the Corona pandemic.

CMP Commissioner said, 'Community policing plays an important role in eliminating the fear of crime as well as the fear of the police and called upon everyone to selflessly stand by the police and fulfill their civic duties.  He stressed on the police to work shoulder to shoulder to build a safe city for the new generation.

 He thanked the CPOs and community policing officers of each police station for their year-long activities and presented mementos.  

Each police station and unit of CMP conducted separate activities throughout the day to celebrate the day.

Every member of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police is working with dedication and professionalism to deliver policing services to the doorstep of the people by holding the motto 'Police for the people, Police for the people'.  In this era of technological excellence through community policing, the active participation of the people in controlling the multidimensionality of crime is strengthening the policing process.  Commu­nity policing activities are being conducted in each police station of Chattogram Metropolitan Police.  Public involvement in crime control is increasing through activities such as beat policing meetings, awareness campaigns in schools and colleges as well as mosques.  

This is a new attempt to turn the police into the people's police to implement the promise of Mujib year.
