We are shocked by the arson attack on the fishermen’s village at Pirganj in Rangpur. We hope that the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will identify the culprits responsible for the attacks on temples and houses of the Hindu community during Durga Puja celebration.

Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday has again given a clear instruction to the Home Minister to take stern action against those who were behind the incidents as soon as possible. Therefore, we believe the evil communal forces, rumour spreaders and troublemakers whatever they might be, would be dealt with an iron hand. We believe following the ‘zero tolerance policy’ against such criminal activities, the law enforcing agencies will also be on high alert and vigilant to deal with the evil communal forces, extremists and other criminals.

We have to build resistance

against these evil forces

unitedly

A total of 450 people were nabbed in connection with 71 cases filed over the attacks by religious fanatics on Hindu homes, temples, businesses and Durga Puja venues in the past five days. It has been noticed that the communal forces are mounting up ahead of the next national polls and they can unleash a 'reign of terror' across the country anytime whenever they will get any scope. In this regard, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat in a planned way are fuelling to stage communal riots throughout the country in order to imperil democracy. They have now resorted to conspiracy to spoil communal harmony in the country. Therefore, people imbued with the spirit of Liberation War will have to be more careful as these elements are also carrying out propaganda on the facebook which triggered the fire incident.

We think it is very clear that BNP-Jamaat clique is behind all the unrest occurring in the country. We the people of the country will have to build resistance against these evil forces unitedly.

BNP is invalid without Jamaat and Jamaat’s reliable umbrella is BNP as they have very strong ties with each other which will never be severed.

Noting that the defeated forces of 1971 had carried out the 1975 carnage, after the assassination of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the poisonous tree of communal evil forces has spread its root deep into the soil.  Though it seems the evil forces are inactive, they are very much active behind the scene. Therefore, everyone must remain alert about the communal forces.

Law enforcement agencies must foil conspirators plot so that they will not be able to create instability by spreading rumours on social media. We think the authorities concerned should intensify monitoring social media and people should not trust anything without fact-checking.
