The hanging body of a college student named Ekhlas Uddin (20) has been recovered in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj. The body was recovered from Agrakerkona area of Upazila Achmita Union on Friday night (September 18).
The deceased was identified as son of Lato Mia of Achmita Union in Katiadi Upazila and a first year student of Mathkhola Zafar Ali College.
Police and family sources said Ekhlas had been missing since Friday's Maghrib prayers. Family members searched him for several hours. At that time, the locals saw the body of Ekhlas hanging on a tree in a nearby land. Upon receiving the news, his elder brother Sohrab Uddin rescued the body. He was later taken to Katiadi Upazila Health Complex for immediate treatment and was declared dead by the on-duty doctor.
Katiadi Model Police Station (OC) MA Jalil said, "An unnatural death case is being filed in this regard."
