Mahbubur Rahman Milon, child consultant of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, said that the number of diarrhea and pneumonia patients is increasing due to rotavirus in severe winter. Most of them are pediatric patients. Every day more than 3 to 4 hundred elderly people are receiving treatment at the outdoor hospital for various cold-related diseases including respiratory distress and diarrhoea. Besides, about 400 children are treated outdoors every day. The number of pneumonia patients is increasing due to winter.
Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aminul Islam Khan said that 20,100 blankets from the Prime Minister's relief fund have been distributed among the people. Another 30,000 blankets have been sent on our behalf. They will be distributed as soon as they are available.
