Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra Shabad Sainik Vir Muktijoddha Sangbad Pathak Babul Akhtar Memorial Trust distributes winter clothes. Blankets were distributed to the needy at 4 pm from Khalist's own residence on Monday.
Munshiganj Municipal Mayor Haji Mohammad Faisal Biplab, Upazila Vice Chairman Nazmul Hasan Sohel, former Bangladesh Agricultural Bank official and Babul Aktar Memorial Trust executive member Abu Saeed Bindu, Munshiganj district Awami League executive member Saiful Bin Samad Shubhra, former councilor Abdul Mannan Darpan, Sadar Upazila student leader Suruj Miah, Munshiganj Municipal No. 9 Ward Commissioner Sajjad Hossain Sagar and Babul Akter's younger brother Moin Quader Robin were present.
Former Bangladesh Agricultural Bank official and executive member of Babul Akhtar Memorial Trust Abu Saeed Bindu said, "We distribute winter clothes every year on behalf of late Babul Akhtar Trust." Sarees, lungis, blankets and food items are distributed among the poor and helpless people during natural calamities and various times. Babul Akhtar was a sound warrior of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra. He used to read news from Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra in 1971. In 1971, the freedom fighters got inspired and jumped into the freedom war.
After his death, a trust was formed in the name of Babul Akhtar. Every year we distribute cold storage and food items under the initiative of the trust. Besides, scholarships are provided to students through Babul Akhtar Memorial Trust in Dhaka University.
Babul Akhtar is dead but his memory lives on. Since he was a word soldier of Swadhin Bengali Betar Kendra. We have repeatedly drawn the attention of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and our strong demand to the government to give posthumous honor to Babul Akhtar.
Haji Mohammad Faisal Biplab said, this family is a traditional family of Munshiganj. There is no doubt that Babul Akhtar contributed a lot during the liberation war. There are others who are in their family but also work for people. Former councilor Abdul Mannan Darpan also did a lot of work for the people. In the future, he may be elected again by your vote and get the opportunity to work.
