The Coast Guard has arrested a drug smuggler along with 10,000 pieces of Yaba pills in an operation in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq confirmed this information on Monday morning (November 10).
He stated that, acting on a tip-off, members of the Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a raid in the Keruntali area of Teknaf police station around 4 pm on November 9. During the operation, a suspicious CNG-run auto-rickshaw was searched, leading to the seizure of 10,000 Yaba pills worth approximately 50 lakh taka. The drug smuggler was arrested along with the vehicle.
The Coast Guard official added that the process of handing over the seized Yaba pills and the arrested individual to the appropriate authorities for further legal action is currently underway.
