The Bangladesh Coast Guard has successfully rescued four crew members from a sinking bulkhead near the coast of Hatiya in Noakhali.
On 11 September 2025, the bulkhead vessel Dui Bon Paribahan, carrying bricks and four crew, departed from Mehendiganj in Barisal en route to Bhasan Char, Noakhali. On 13 September at around 1 PM, the vessel began to sink after developing a rupture in its hull near Ganguriar Char, in the Char Ishwar area under Hatiya Police Station.
The matter was reported to the Coast Guard by the local dock association leader. Acting on this information, Coast Guard Station Bhasan Char launched a rescue operation at 5 PM the same day. All four crew members were rescued along with the half-submerged vessel.
The crew and vessel were later handed over to the owners.
The Coast Guard stated that such humanitarian rescue efforts will continue in the future.
