The South Division of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has taken initiative to distribute food items among the poor and destitute who are helpless due to the outbreak of Corona virus.
Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir inaugurated the programme at a function held at Rima Convention Center under CMP's Chawkbazar Police Station on Wednesday.
Under this program, 10 days food items will be distributed among about 2,500 poor families living in 24 bit areas of the south division of Chattogram Metropolitan Police. A total of 12.5 kg of food items and daily necessities including rice, pulses, gram, onion, potato, salt, edible oil and soap will be distributed to each family at their homes.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Shyamal Kumar Nath, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vijay Basak, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB-South) Shah Abdur Rauf and other senior police officials were present on the occasion.
