The Mujib Year Inter-School Debate Competition 2021 has started on the occasion of Mujib Year organised by Chittagong Metropolitan Police North Division under the slogan 'Peace is not peace, war is pure in debate'.
On the occasion, Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir was present as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony at Shilpakala Academy in the city on Monday.
Students from 16 educational institutions of the city will participate in the five-day competition till March 20. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Vijay Basak presided over the function. Drishti Chattogram is providing technical assistance in editing the program. The event is sponsored by Alhaj Md Yakub proprietor of Yusuf Shipping Lines.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) Md Shamsul Alam, General Manager of Bangladesh Television, Chittagong Center Nitai Kumar Bhattacharya, Founder of Chittagong Field Hospital Dr Bidyut Barua, Chittagong Metropolitan Community Policing Member Secretary Ahid Siraj Chowdhury Swapan with police senior officials and students of various educational institutions were present.
