CMP launches plasma bank

Recently members of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) have recovered from infection with corona virus and after their recovery; they have taken initiatives to launch a plasma bank in the metropolitan area. 

Police members as well as residents of Chittagong city who have recovered from corona virus are also being included as members of the Plasma Bank.

CMP Commissioner Md. Mahabubur Rahman took initiatives to create the plasma bank in order to ensure plasma therapy to be given to corona patients.

The work for making plasma bank has already started. 39 CMP members who recovered from corona virus have been included as members of the plasma bank. 

Besides, CMP Commissioner Md. Mahabubur Rahman has also instructed every police station of CMP to create a database for people who live in Chittagong city and have recovered from corona. This plasma bank made by CMP will provide plasma to CMP members and those affected in Chittagong.

CMP Additional Commissioner (administration and finance) Amena Begum has been made as the head of the monitoring committee and has also been entrusted with the responsibilities to oversee the activities of CMP Plasma Bank. 

The committee includes Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Amir Zafar and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Mohammad Moinul Islam and doctors from the Divisional Police Hospital.

CMP Additional Commissioner (Public Relations) Mohammad Abubakar Siddique said, “A plasma bank has been launched under the direction of CMP Commissioner Md. Mahabubur Rahman   for plasma therapy to the corona patients. 

Those who have recently recovered will also be included. CMP has also instructed each police station to create a database for people living in  Chattogram who have recovered from corona. This plasma bank will provide plasma to CMP members and those affected in Chattogram.”

Total number of corona patients in Chattogram is 2,429, out of which 67 died and 197 recovered.  Of them, 39 are CMP members. CMP members recovered from corona virus and returned to work.
