Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Traffic South Division officers held an exchange meeting with the bus-minibus owners and workers leaders in Chittagong on the occasion of upcoming Qurbani Eid in order to decongest the traffic and ensure safe journey of people ahead of Eid.
The meeting was held in the conference room of Traffic-South Office, Ice Factory Road, Sadarghat of the city on recently. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-South) NM Naseeruddin presided over the meeting.
In the meeting, he gave some timely instructions in view of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha. The instructions are that the normal journey cannot be disturbed by collecting extra fare from the common passengers and causing traffic congestion by parking cars everywhere on the road. For this purpose counter based surveillance will be increased.
Smooth movement of livestock vehicles entering the city should be ensured. Unfit and dilapidated vehicles should be avoided. Temporary or seasonal bus counters shall not be made to prevent inconvenience to the public. One vehicle should be ensured at each counter in one line.
Carrying extra passengers and carrying passengers on the roof and pulling passengers' luggage are not permitted. Vigilance will be increased so that vehicles from one route cannot ply on other routes and vehicles from urban areas cannot go outside on reserve fares in anticipation of additional fares.
