CMP Commissioner vows to maintain law and order during Ramadan

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy has called upon the businessmen of Chattogram and others to maintain law and order situation during Ramzan. He also called upon the business leaders to pay workers' salaries and bonuses on time.

The CMP Commissioner said these while speaking at a views-exchange meeting with the representatives of various organizations of Chattogram to keep the law and order situation normal. CMP senior officials, Various business association and journalists were present at the meeting held on Monday. 

CMP Commissioner said, garment workers to be given leave as per the rules and if there is any problem related to the wages of the workers in any garment, they should inform the police in advance.

Thebusinessmen asked to stop parking in front of the market, increase the police patrol, evict the floating hawkers, stop the dangerous work in the construction of elevated expressway and stop digging the road in front of the market during Ramadan.

 CMP Commissioner said, people always like to impose demands.  But they forget that they also have a duty.  Max is working on the elevated expressway, there is a problem with the movement of people.  Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) relationship with Max.  But no CDA representative came today.  No one helps us.  People blame the police for everything.

He said that the cooperation of the City Corporation and the District Administration is needed to maintain the law and order situation on the occasion of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr in the metropolitan area along with regular market monitoring.  Do not dig any kind of important roads in the city during the month of Ramadan, if digging is necessary for any reason, coordinating with the CMP will reduce the suffering of people.

Addressing the shop owners' association, he said that the information regarding the mischievous youth, Hijras, the unnecessary movement of suspicious women in the market should be reported to the nearest police station.  Inform the nearest police station if you have any information related to drugs and robberies.  In order to reduce traffic congestion in the market, do not park cars everywhere on the street and in front of the market.  Counterfeit money detection machines should be installed in the markets and lighting and generators should be provided in the markets.  Keeping market entrances, footpaths, roads free from hawkers.  Notifying the police if drag parties, littering parties, looting parties, malam parties and fraud gangs are identified.  Traders should be aware of these issues.
