Closure of state-owned jute mills protested

Thakurgaon district unit of Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi has staged a protest rally demanding cancellation of the decision to close all state-owned jute mills, prevention of corruption and mismanagement in the health sector and repeal of the Digital Security Act.

The program was organised at crossroads in the district town on Saturday afternoon. Leaders and activists of various social and political organisations, including leaders and activists of Udichi, participated in the hour-long protest rally.

Thakurgaon district unit president of Udichi Shilpigoshthi Setara Begum presided over the function, while upazila unit president of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) Ahsanul Habib Babu, district unit president of Bangladesh Chatra Union Abu Bakkar Siddique, writer Jasmine, among others were present.

Speakers at the protest meeting, demanded that the government should immediately reverse these decisions.
