Clooney, Pitt shine at Venice Film Fest with ‘Wolfs’

Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney are making headlines at the 81st Venice Film Festival. On Sunday, the two actors presented their film, ‘Wolfs’ directed by Jon Watts, which is showing out of competition. In the film, Pitt and Clooney play fixers who must work together to erase all evidence of a crime.

The festival also features several films in competition. Adrien Brody stars in *The Brutalist*, directed by Brady Corbet. This film tells the story of a Jewish architect who survives the Holocaust and navigates life in America. Another film in competition is ‘Ainda Estou Aqui’ (I’m Still Here) by Walter Salles. It’s based on a novel by Marcelo Rubens Paiva and follows a family affected by Brazil’s military regime in 1971.

Several films are debuting out of competition, including ‘Se Posso Permettermi - Capitolo II’ (May I Say? - Chapter II) by Marco Bellocchio. This film is a follow-up to a short film made in 2019 and is part of the Bottega XNL - Fare Cinema training program. Also showing are Alice Rohrwacher’s film and a project by French video artist Jr Allégorie Citadine.

In the Horizons section, Italy’s ‘Familia’ by Francesco Costabile is competing for an award. The film tells the story of a family struggling to reconnect with their father, who has been missing for ten years.

Additionally, the Italian film ‘Anywhere Anytime’ by Milad Tangshir is competing in the Settimana della Critica (Critics’ Week). It follows a migrant in Turin who hopes to transform his life by working as a delivery rider.
