Classic Blue, a familiar, calming shade of azure!. It gives a space a feeling of sophistication and luxury. It’s a fairly dark, eye-catching shade that should be used in moderation. Sometimes we do an accent wall in the color; in other spaces we use it just for accessories. We tend to not use it too much in one room. Small amounts stand on their own without overwhelming a space.
Blue is associated with calm and serenity, which is ideal for bedrooms. Being such an elegant color, it is also great for other spaces. ! Classic Blue is akin to black; it goes with everything. It’s a wonderful color because it transcends periods and styles—it looks just as good in a high lacquer in a painted library as it does in a contemporary kitchen design.
Living room: With subtle white walls, one can bodly use it on a wall as you complement it with chairs in dark wood in order to create a bold look. If you don't wish to experiment, seating (sofa sets and chairs) in the living room or bedroom can have a fabric of this shade or throws and pillows can have a shade of classic blue against a neutral shade sofa set or use it for your pouffee or ottamans.
Accessorise: Use of interesting accessories like wall hanging, vase, frames, etc. One can also use a rug of this shade with a centre table in the living room. This in turn will make the table stand out too.
Offices: Gone are the days when offices had the standard neutral shades. Consider it boring and opt for a splash of classic blue. Use this shade on table tops or office chairs. However, use this shade smartly and don't over-do it.
Wardrobes: Pattern it out. One could experiment with classic blue patterned wallpaper on the sides of the wardrobes which can be a eye-catchy spot.
Kids room: A child's room should always have colour. The classic blue shade is no longer restricted to a boy's room only. If used interestingly, it can be well used in a kids room. One of the houses designed by us had a flight of stairs in the kids bedroom. The Pantone Colour could replace the blacks in the piano and add to the white.
