In separate operations conducted in the Dhaka North and South City Corporation areas to prevent the spread of Aedes mosquito larvae, 4, 56,200 taka worth of fines were collected in 23 cases.
In the 24 hours until Tuesday night, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) fined a total of Tk. 3, 05000 thousand taka in 11 mobile court cases. On the other hand, during the time, 6 mobile courts imposed fines of Tk. 1, 52,200 in 12 cases in the areas under the jurisdiction of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
Dhaka North City Corporation Public Relations Officer Abul Basar Muhammad Tajul Islam informed that a fine of Tk 100,000 in two cases in a mobile court headed by Executive Magistrate Mohammad Zulkar Nayan in Zone 1 of DNCC and a fine of Tk 185,000 in five cases in a mobile court headed by Executive Magistrate Abdullah Al Baki in Zone 3 was collected.
Furthermore, a fine of Tk 20,000 was levied in four cases in a mobile court headed by Executive Magistrate Saleha Binte Siraj in Area No. 4. Thus, the total amount of fines collected in 10 cases was 3 lakh 5 thousand taka.
On the other hand, Abu Naser, Public Relations Officer, Dhaka South City Corporation, informed that in areas 1 to 4 and 8 to 10 under the jurisdiction of DSCC, raids were conducted by mobile courts in 201 under-construction installations and houses. A fine of Tk 1, 52,200 had been collected from 12 cases due to being breeding grounds of disease prone mosquitoes.
