The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police has filed a charge sheet in the murder case of two students of Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology in Dinajpur after nearly five and a half years. The charge sheet charged 26 leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliates.
CID inspector and investigation officer Ramzan Ali submitted the charge sheet to the court on Wednesday afternoon. The accused are identified as Abu Ibn Rajjab, former President of District Swechchhasebak League unit, Biswajit Ghosh Kanchan, GS of Kotwali AL unit, Zakaria Zakir, GS of District Swechchhasebak League unit, Rashidul Islam, Sirajul Salekin Rana and Mahmudul Hasan alias Single, Harunur Rashid Raihan, Rakibul Islam Mithun, Mahmudur Rahman Masum, Nahid Ahmed Nayan, Mominul Islam Momen, Ruhul Amin Zoha, Aminul Islam, Ashraful Alam, Nazmul Islam Mamun, Kamruzzaman Kamu, Jewel Islam, Nahid Ali, Tayeb Bin Sharif, Harej alias Bulu, Azizar Rahman, Sabbir Ahmed Sujan, GS of Dinajpur Government College Chhatra League unit, Arman Biswas, Arafat Hossain, Shahidul Islam Saju and Abu Sayed Sheru.
Zakaria, a second-year student of the BBA, and Mahmudul Hasan Milton, a student of the Department of Agriculture, were killed during a clash between the local AL unit and a section of the BCL on April 16, 2015 at the veterinary faculty's fresher’s reception.
Two cases were filed in the court on behalf of the deceased’s families and another case was filed by police accusing 50 to 60 unidentified persons in this connection. Dinajpur Kotwali police investigated the case for a long time, then the investigation was handed over to the CID.
