People have been thronging for shopping in all the markets of Chuadanga district town ahead of Eid, the largest religious festival of the Muslims.
The buyers are starting to crowd in the district markets to buy new clothes, sarees, readymade dresses and other items for their families in a festive mood. All the markets are becoming busy for selling their Eid items as customers rush to different shopping centers, which begin in the morning and continue till mid-night.
While visiting various shopping complexes including New Market, Abdullah City Market, Prince Plaza, Moon Market, Boro Bazar Puraton Market, Ali Hossain Market, it can be seen that crowds are getting bigger as Eid is at the doorstep.
Most of the salespersons said, the sales have started to reach their peak after 16 Ramadan. Shoppers said that the prices of all clothes increased by 10 to 15 percent compared a few days back.
This year a new collection of three pieces namely ‘Nayra’ is the top choice of the young ladies, said Shajahan Khandakar, owner of Shampa Germents in New Market.
It is learnt from various owners of shops, cotton 3-piece and Indian 3-piece at the rate of Tk. 1,000 to 3,000 in different quality are prime demands of the young women.
Banarashi, Katan, various type of Half & Full Silk, Indian Jamdani, Tangail sarees have been displayed at cloth stores but demand of purchasing is low at present. Many shop keepers are thinking, the sarees which prices are above tk 5,000 these may be unsold, it is learnt.
Prices of different varieties of clothes, particularly cotton, tissue, silk and synthetic have registered a sharp rise, although the shops are almost full of the verities, sources added.
Big cloth stores are Mohon Bostralya, BN Bostralya, Sharee House and Romzan Cloth Store at Boro Bazaar, Falguni Bostro Bitan, Chuadanga Cloth Store, Jahid Bostrobitan, Onyany Bostralya, Shari Kuthir and Aziz Bostralya at New Market in the town, which are seeing a lot of customers. Well known readymade stores are Shampa Garments, Hridoy Garments, Hridoya Garments, Gents Collection, Saz Ghor and Russel Garments at New Market are also becoming busy. Most of the people have been purchasing their necessary items from the stores and other markets. Big Bazaar is one of the department store in the town which is crowded with various type of customers for buying articles of Eid celebration.
Men, women, young ladies, youths and children are seen at different type of shoes’ stores like Challenge Shoes Store, Bata, Apex and Bay for buying sandals, shoes and others. Per pair of sandal is being sold from tk. 1000 to tk. 3500. A set of shoe is sold from tk. 1500 to tk.4000.
