Chuadanga district BNP launches clean-up drive at Sadar Hospital

Patients and their families have long voiced concerns over the unhygienic conditions, foul odour, and presence of brokers at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital. In response, the Chuadanga District unit of the BNP has stepped forward as part of a nationwide cleanliness campaign initiated under the directive of acting party chairman Tarique Rahman.

On Tuesday at 10 am, the clean-up drive was formally launched by Sharifuzzaman Sharif, General Secretary of Chuadanga District BNP. In a brief speech, he stated, “Complaints about the hospital's poor hygiene have persisted for years. In some cases, patients can’t even enter due to the unbearable smell. A hospital should be a place of healing, not suffering. That’s why we've taken the initiative to clean it ourselves. Learning about the shortage of cleaning staff, I have instructed the appointment of three new workers from today. Their salaries will be covered by the BNP and its affiliated organisations.”

Present at the event were Civil Surgeon Dr Hadi Zia Uddin Ahmed, Hospital Superintendent Dr Bidyut Kumar, Consultant Paediatrician Dr Asadul Haque Malik Khokon, Orthopaedic Consultant Dr Milonur Rahman Milon, and DAB President Dr Hasanuzzaman Nupur, along with numerous BNP leaders and activists from across the district.
