Chinese team visits Cox’s Bazar

A three-member delegation headed by Yan Hualong, Minister Council and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Bangladesh embassy in China, has arrived in Cox's Bazar. 

At this time, they visited the Cox's Bazar Municipality, Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner's office and exchanged views with the officials. The team also visited the Rohingya camp there.

Mayor Mujibur Rahman of Cox's Bazar Municipality welcomed the Chinese delegation with flowers when they reached the municipality building on Monday afternoon.

The Deputy Chief of Mission placed a wreath on the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Later, the delegation visited the mayor's office. During the meeting, various important issues including ongoing development projects of Cox's Bazar Municipality were discussed.

Cox's Bazar Municipality Chief Executive Officer AKM Tariqul Alam, CCECC Bangladesh Branch General Manager K Changliang, Cox's Bazar Airport Runway Extension Project Contract Manager Zheng Chenglong, Embassy of China Political Section Attache Peng, Cox's Bazar Airport Runway Extension Project Coordinator Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, councillors and officials of the municipality were present during this time.

Earlier, the Chinese delegation met Commissioner of the Office of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commission, Shah Rizwan Hayat. 

The Chinese delegation visited the Rohingya camp on Tuesday afternoon and also spoke to Myanmar nationals who had taken refuge in Rohingya camps. 

Yan Hualong, Minister-Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission of Chinese embassy in Bangladesh, said Bangladesh is on the side of Rohingyas.
