Chinese medical logistics for Bangladesh to fight off coronavirus will arrive on Thursday via Kunming, the Chinese embassy in Dhaka said.
This is the second batch of medical logistics that include 10,000 testing kits, 10,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for doctors, and 1,000 infrared thermometers. Earlier in the first batch China handed over 500 testing kits.
The new batch will be brought in Dhaka by a special aircraft of the government of China, the embassy said in a Facebook post. The coronavirus was first emerged from China’s Wuhan city. China brought the situation under control.
During the outbreak, Bangladesh last month sent PPEs for doctors in China’s Wuhan city. Those include: 1 million hand gloves, 500,000 facemasks, 150,000 caps, 100,000 hand sanitizers, 50,000 shoe-covers and 8,000 gowns.
Jack Ma, co-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba Group, also announced to help Bangladesh along with some other Asian nations as all countries are facing crisis of medical logistics.
Ma promised to donate emergency supplies, including masks, test kits, protective suits, plus ventilators and thermometers in a tweet earlier.
As of Tuesday, Bangladesh confirmed 39 coronacvirus cases with four deaths.
