Fatema Begum, a mentally unbalanced mother, went missing from Mirpur in Dhaka two and a half years ago. Thirty months after the disappearance, the family found the missing mother through the help of social media Facebook.
The incident took place at Char Betal village in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj. The children got their missing mother back thanks to a viral post by Dhaka Supreme Court lawyer Arifur Rahman.
It is learned that two and a half years ago, a mentally unbalanced mother Fatema Begum went missing while staying with her sons in Mirpur, Dhaka. After a long search, son Dulal Mia could not find his mother. This is how two and a half years go by. On November 21, Ali HaiderMallick, an NGO worker and Supreme Court lawyer, spoke to Arifur Rahman. After contacting the matter, he posted a picture and video of the rescued old woman on Facebook and the matter spread through social media. Arifur later found Fatema Begum's address based on this video.
Later, the family left for Binna village in Nesharabad on November 23 with the missing eldest son Dulal and his sister Launch.
According to the relatives of the missing, the mother was found in the shelter of local UP member Babul Bahadur in Binna village of Baldia union of Nesharabad police station in Pirojpur district on Wednesday morning. The children broke down in tears, embracing their mother, overwhelmed with emotion after finding her mentally unbalanced. Tears came to the eyes of hundreds of men and women who were present at the sight.
Advocate Arifur Rahman said, 'The matter spread after the Facebook status. Later, the old woman's son and daughter get their mother back. I am very happy to be able to do this. I confidently spread the word of acknowledgment. In the end, Allah has fulfilled the desire of my heart. '
The eldest son of the missing old woman Dulal Mia and sister Nazma Begum said, 'We always said that one day my mother would come back. God has accepted our call. We got my mother back for the sake of Advocate Arif Sir.
