A 6-year-old child died after being hit by an easy bike in Jamalpur's Melandhe. The accident took place on April 17 (Tuesday) at noon in the upazila's Malanch Bazar. The deceased is the son of Md. Amir Hamza of Malanch Dakshinpara village of Melandah upazila.
According to local sources, Amir Hamza and his family members were waiting for the car at the local Malanch Bazar junction after coming out of the house to see the wedding bride of Shishu Ayat's uncle.
At that time, a battery-powered easybike lost control and fell on the child Ayat.
Ayat received severe injuries on his head. Locals rescued baby Ayat in a critical condition and took him to Jamalpur General Hospital.
The doctor on duty sent him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Baby Ayat died on the way to Mymensingh Medical.
In this regard, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Melandah police station Md. Raju Ahmed confirmed the truth of the incident and said, "I have learned that a child has been killed in an accident."
However, no complaints have been received yet. Legal action will be taken if complaints are received from the family.
