Cherry Blossoms International School and College celebrated its 30th anniversary with a colourful programme at its campus in Mirpur on Monday.
Founded in 1996, the institution is the first English-medium school in the Mirpur area. Renowned educationist, social worker and woman entrepreneur Dr Saleha Kader is the founder principal and chairperson of the institution.
To mark the milestone, the school organised a day-long programme featuring cultural performances, a traditional pitha festival and a prize-giving ceremony, attended by students, guardians and invited guests.
Managing Director of Alok Hospital and Healthcare Limited Md Lokman Hossain attended the event as the chief guest.
The programme began at 10:00 am with an inaugural session led by founder principal Dr Saleha Kader, while vice principal Dr Afsana Amin conducted the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saleha Kader said the institution had overcome numerous challenges since its inception with the support of the local community and unwavering determination.
“As the first English-medium school in Mirpur, we faced many challenges, but with the support of the local community and our determination, we overcame them all. Today, with 30 years of experience, I feel proud of how far we have come,” she said.
Vice principal Dr Afsana Amin also expressed pride in the institution’s journey, saying the anniversary marked three decades of commitment to quality education.
“It is a moment of great joy and pride to celebrate 30 years of Cherry Blossoms International School and College and its continued dedication to excellence in education,” she added.
