Chittagong Zilla Parishad initiative has distributed checks of financial assistance to brave freedom fighters, destitute and underprivileged people of the district.
Zila Parishad Administrator and Chattogram North District Awami League President MA Salam distributed these checks at a function on Tuesday at the temporary office of Zilla Parishad. Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Shabbir Iqbal presided over the event.
MA Salam said that although the main work of the district council is to conduct development activities, it is important to stand by the helpless and poor people of the district. So every year the Zila Parishad has been providing such assistance to the candidates.
If all capable individuals and institutions of the society extend their hand of cooperation, no one will be helpless in the society.
Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Md. Didarul Alam, Executive Engineer Mohammad Monirul Islam and other officials were present during check distribution. It is to be mentioned that financial assistance has been provided to 117 brave freedom fighters and 352 poor people under the budget of the financial year 2021-22.
