Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Nure Alam Mina has been transferred as DIG of Chattogram Range. Before this, he served as Superintendent of Police of Chattogram.
7 Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and 22 Superintendent of Police (SP) rank officers of police were transferred on Tuesday. This information was informed in a notification signed by Deputy Secretary, Public Security Department in Ministry of Home Affairs, Sirajum Munira.
According to the notification, Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Nure Alam Mina has been made DIG of Chattogram Range, DIG of Chattogram Range Anwar Hossain has been made to Police Headquarters, DIG of Anti-Terrorism Unit Moniruzzaman has been made Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police, DIG of Industrial Police Sheikh Mohammad Rezaul Haider has been made Director of Central Police Hospital, SBR DIG Mohammad Abul Faiz has been transferred to Shilpanchal Police, Central Police Hospital Director Saleh Mohammad Tanvir has been transferred to SB and DIG Industrial Police Jihadul Kabir has been transferred to Mass Rapid Transit (Metrorail) Police.
Nure Alam Mina was born in 1976 in Kashiani of Gopalganj district in a noble Muslim family. After completing BSS (Honours) and MSS from Dhaka University Department of Economics, he joined Bangladesh Police as Assistant Superintendent of Police in 2001 through 20th BCS. He was Superintendent of Police in Sunamganj district till 27 April 2013 and Superintendent of Police of Sylhet district till 19 July 2016.
After getting promoted from Chattogram District Superintendent of Police, he served with great reputation as Additional Deputy Inspector General of Range DIG office in Dhaka. Later he joined Rangpur Metropolitan Police as Commissioner.
Nure Alam Mina received the UN Peacekeeping Medal while serving in the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan. Awarded the 'Best-in-Academics' award at the Bangladesh Police Academy. Awarded the President's Police Medal (PPM) Seva in 2013, 'IGP Badge' in 2014 and Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) Bravery Medal in 2018 for his outstanding service in Bangladesh Police. Received the 'Bangladesh Police Padak (BPM) Seva medal from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Rajarbagh Parade Ground on 4 February 2019 in recognition of meritorious contribution to service, efficiency and crime control.
In his service life, he received important training in various subjects apart from practical training in the country. Also completed 'Basic Commercial Crime Investigation Course' from Royal Malaysian Police College in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In personal life he is married and father of two daughters and a son.
Uncompromising on the spirit of the liberation war, Nure Alam Mina is playing an important role in the suppression of drugs, terrorism and militants. Besides strengthening community policing activities in ensuring public-friendly service-oriented policing, personal efforts have set a shining example in the service of humanity. He launched the 'Expatriate Help Desk' for police assistance to the residents of Chattogram district working abroad. Which has been widely appreciated.
