The cyclone is also at a distance from Cox's Bazar, Mongla, Payra seaport.  For this reason, these seaports have been asked to display remote warning signal number two.

The Chattogram Port Authority is on alert to deal with the impending cyclone, which is threatening to turn into a super cyclone.  Chattogram Port is taking all possible measures regarding Mocha by keeping in hourly contact with the Meteorological Department.

Chairman of Chattogram Port Authority Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail said that the matter of dealing with the cyclone is scheduled.  What to do when is done in policy form.  The matter is now very organized.  We are managing our to-do phase accordingly.

He said, we have already miked.  Lighterage ships and oil tankers have been asked to move to a safe place.  Those who will go to Mongla, Khulna, Payra or Dhaka have been asked to leave a little earlier.  Those who won't go are told to evacuate to safer places upstream.  There we are deploying our tug.  Naval ships also stay in our channel.  They have also taken their own security measures.  We have everything sorted.

He said, once the signal goes up, we will start working as per the plan.  Signal No. 4 will prompt a meeting of the Standing Committee at the port and alert various other committees.  If the signal goes to 5, the vessel in the jetty will be sent to outer anchorage.  But for now I am coordinating with the Meteorological Department.  Appropriate action will be taken if the signal goes up.  We are vigilant about Mocha.  We are monitoring everything necessary by keeping in touch with the Meteorological Department.  Besides, I have given letters to various offices.  Doing everything we have to do.
