Chattogram Customs House canceled the licenses of three C&F agents for submitting fake certificates while renewing their licenses. At the same time, the companies have been fined Tk 2 lakh.
The companies are M/s B Line Bangladesh, M/s Sharif & Sons and M/S Jobayer Trading Corporation. Earlier, Chattogram Customs had suspended the licenses of these three companies.
According to the Customs Agents (Licensing) Rules 2016, a C&F licensee must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent. However, the licensees of the three C&F agents submitted fake educational qualifications during the renewal.
Chattogram Customs House Deputy Commissioner Sultan Mahmud said the educational qualifications issued by the licensed C&F owners are verified during the renewal of the license. The licenses of three C&F agents have been revoked as their educational qualifications have not been validated. They were also fined Tk 2 lakh for giving false information.
