Heavy vehicles including cargo trucks, buses, microbuses, pickups, private cars have to travel an additional 10 kilometers as a culvert is useless in Pailanpur area of LGED road from Chatmohar to Ashtamanisha in Pabna. Heavy vehicles used to ply on this road at one time, but heavy vehicles have been completely closed for the past six years.

It is known that six years ago, when the culvert became unstable, the movement of heavy vehicles was stopped. Three years ago the culvert was removed and replaced with broken bricks for traffic. Small vehicles like vans, autorickshaws, motorcycles are moving on it with some kind of risk. But accidents often happen and people get injured. Deterioration of vehicle parts. Even though this situation has been going on for a long time, no one is taking the initiative to repair it. Recently, the local residents have been moving around in some way by picking up grasshoppers and dumping tree sap on both sides of the road. A once-passable road is now almost traffic-free due to lack of culverts.

Local residents said that the distance from Jardismore of Chatmohar town center to Ashtamanisha is approximately 9 kilometers. There was a culvert in Pailanpur area of this road. Due to its collapse, the movement of heavy vehicles was stopped for about three years. The people of this area used to move over it at the risk of their lives. Three years ago the culvert was demolished and some broken bricks were dumped there. As there are canals on both sides of the culvert, some bricks are dislodged and go into the canal. The water inflow to the bill through the Baral river was also stopped. Even if the culvert is removed, due to not putting the necessary soil there, the place has become low and narrow, so vehicles such as buses, trucks, microbuses, pickups, private cars are not able to move.

Once hundreds of vehicles ply on this road every day, but heavy vehicle drivers have not been able to use this road for about 6 years. Although the distance from Chatmohar to Ashtamanisha is only 9 km, the drivers of cargo trucks and other large vehicles have to cross about 19 km horse path to go from Chatmohar to Ashtamanisha or from Ashtamanisha to Chatmohar via Bhangura Upazila Sadar. They have to travel about ten kilometers extra. This is causing additional cost and time loss to the vehicle drivers.

Rajab Ali Bablu, Chairman of Gunaigacha Union Parishad said, I have renovated this place twice. We hope that the culvert will be constructed here very soon. As far as I know when the tender will be done.

Chatmohar Upazila Engineer Sultan Mahmud said, I sent a proposal to the higher authorities in this regard. A bridge of 20 meters length has been sanctioned there. I hope to tender soon. After the tender, the contractor will start the work. It is hoped that the work of the bridge will start within the next two to three months.
