Bangladesh’s High Performance Unit’s head coach Toby Radford will not be available for the upcoming home series against Ireland Wolves, a Bangladesh Cricket Board official confirmed on Thursday.

Tobby, who replaced Simon Helmut, arrived in October for the High Performance camp and was credited by many for having played an important role in the young batsmen shining at the Bangabandhu T20 tournament. High Performance manager Jamal Babu revealed that Sri Lankan Champaka Ramanayake will replace Radford as the head coach for the series against Ireland Wolves, which involves one four-day game, five one-day matches along with two Twenty20s.

“Tobby is not coming during the home series against Ireland Wolves as he is sick and won't be able to travel to Bangladesh,” HP manager Jamal Babu told Cricbuzz on Thursday. “Champaka (Ramanayake) has already joined the training camp in Chattogram and he will be in charge during the series.”

The series will start with the lone four-day match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on February 26 while the first three one-day matches will be held on March 5, 7 and 9 respectively at the same venue.
