The indoor cricket complex was inaugurated at a cost of Tk 12 crore inside Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.  All the facilities required for indoor practice are included in this world class indoor.  Cricket pitches for indoor practice are imported from abroad.  Apart from the spectacular setting of the steel structure, everything that the cricketers need is included inside as well.  The Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) has built the indoor cricket complex with Japanese assistance.  This spectacular indoor complex was inaugurated on Saturday afternoon.

Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works Kazi Wasi Uddin was present as the chief guest.  Abu Hena Manju, Senior State Officer of Chattogram Development Authority, recited the Holy Quran at the beginning.

In the speech of the chief guest, Kazi Washi Uddin said that currently Bangladesh cricket team is a superpower in the court of the world.  This indoor complex will be a great help to keep practicing the game at any moment.

As a special guest, former CCC mayor AJM Nashir said that Bangladesh is moving ahead in sports in line with the world.  Because of this it will be more helpful for cricket players to practice.

Chairman of Chattogram Development Authority M Zahirul Alam Dubash said that the Prime Minister's gift is reaching every district.  People of Chittagong are very happy to receive these gifts.

CDA System Analyst Mustafa Jamal moderated the program.  CDA Secretary Amal Guha, Engineer Kazi Hasan Bin Sams, Mahfuzur Rahman, Rajiv Dash were present.

According to CDA sources, the indoor space of Zahur Ahmad Chowdhury Stadium is very much needed for proper construction of feeder road-3.  If it didn't break, the road alignment would have to be changed.  In this situation, it was decided to demolish the old indoor road and construct a new indoor one.  By doing this, the said indoor was demolished for the construction of the road.

Indoor space is also used for roads.  Neither the National Sports Council nor the Bangladesh Cricket Board have taken any compensation from the CDA for the venue.  The CDA constructed the indoor cricket complex at a cost of around Tk 12 crore from the project funds.

The indoor complex was built by domestic contractor Spectra International as part of a project jointly funded by Japan and Bangladesh.

The highly aesthetically designed indoor cricket complex caters to all the needs of the cricketers from indoor practice pitches, nets, changing rooms, bathing facilities.
