‘CCC team working to improve waterlogging in city’

A delegation led by Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Muhammad Touhidul Islam visited the affected areas of the city and took various steps to monitor the waterlogging situation in the city and remove the waterlogged water quickly. CCC chief executive officer Sheikh Muhammad Touhidul Islam said about the inspection, "As per the instructions of the mayor, if the amount of rain increases, we will continue to evacuate people by miking in various dangerous areas along with various public and private organizations.  Besides, the councilors are delivering food on behalf of the mayor to water-logged areas.  Repair of all roads that have been damaged and water logging at all points is in progress.

 On Monday, the delegation started the work of activating the water flow by using instant servants, excavators and long booms in the places where the flow of water is obstructed, including Bahaddarhat, Muradpur, Phultala, Baroipara, Enayetbazar, Tinpole Matha, New Market, Station Road, Kapashgola.

After visiting the vulnerable hilly areas of North Pahartali ward, Lake city residential of Pahartali Ward, Lalkhan Bazar ward. The team visited the shelters to see all the families who were evicted due to dangerous living at the foothills.  

CCC Councillor Noor Mostafa Tinu, Reserved Women Councillor Rumki Sengupta, CCC Mayor's Private Secretary and Chief Clean Officer Abul Hashem, Malaria and Mosquito Control Officer Md Sharful Islam Mahi, Slum Development Officer Moinul Islam Joy and CCC Clean Department staff were present.

Besides, Additional cmChief Engineer Munirul Huda, Supervising Engineer Biplab Das and Executive Engineers Abu Siddique and Anwar Jahan visited the flooded areas of the city under the leadership of CCC chief engineer Rafiqul Islam to repair the roads damaged by excessive rain and remove water quickly and create temporary barriers in vulnerable areas.  Meanwhile, they took various steps to normalize the road and communication system as soon as possible.
