CCC Mayor Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said necessary preparation has been taken to remove the waste of the sacrificial animal. The city would be cleaned of the sacrificial waste within seven hours, he declared. They will provide polythene bags to carry the sacrificial waste.
The city mayor said these on Saturday while visiting the Jamiatul Falah Mosque in Chattogram.
The mayor said they have held meetings with the animal skin traders and hope that the environment will not be polluted due to rotten animal skins this year.
Mayor Chowdhury said that the Chattogram Jamiatul Falah Eidgah is fully prepared for the main congregation of Eid-ul-Adha. Two congregations will be held this year at 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning. There will be enough stand fan and pandal facilities for the worshippers.
In addition to the wudu space of the mosque, water has been arranged in additional cars for making wudu. CCTV monitoring will be arranged, and trained members of the Law Enforcement Force will be deployed to ensure security. Moreover, Eid congregations will be held in the wards under the supervision of ward councillors.
The mayor also said that the drains around the mosque were cleaned so that the congregation was not hampered by normal rain. But if there is waterlogging due to heavy rain, the congregation will be held inside the mosque. He also built an Eidgah in Muhammadpur, Murdapur, for the Eid congregation.
Panel Mayor Mohammad Gias Uddin, Councillor Abul Hasnat Md. Belal, Councillor Abdus Salam Masum, and Personal Secretary of the Mayor, AC Hasem, were present at that time.
The first and main congregation of Eid-ul-Azha will be held at 7:30 am, and the second congregation will be held at 8:30 am in the Jamiatul Falah Eidgah under the supervision of the CCC. Moreover, Eid congregations will be held at 7 am in 9 mosques under the supervision of the City Corporation.
The mosques are respectively Laldighi City Corporation Shahi Jame Masjid, Hazrat Sheikh Farid (RA) Chashma Eidgah Mosque, Sugandha Residential Area Jame Masjid, Chawkbazar City Corporation Jame Masjid, Jahur Hawkers Market Jame Masjid, South Khulshi VIP Residential Area Jame Masjid, Arefin Nagar Central Cemetery Jame Masjid, Sagarika Garubazar Jame Masjid, and Ma Ayesha Siddiqui CCC Jame Masjid adjacent to Sagarika Zahur Ahmad Chowdhury Stadium.
Moreover, one main Eid congregation will be held in each mosque or Eidgah under the supervision of the respective ward councillors in the 41 wards of the city.
