Most of the sidewalks on the Chattogram road are occupied illegally. Although these sidewalks and roads were raided in the morning, they were occupied again in the afternoon. An operation is being carried out to evict illegal structures from roads and footpaths and free squatters under the direction of Chattogram City Corporation Mayor M Rezaul Karim. CCC has deployed 'Striking Force' or special team to prevent the reoccupation of the eviction sites. These evacuee places will be visited regularly. If you see reoccupation, you will start eviction there again.
Chattogram City Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that they will conduct the operation by forming a special team. Evacuation areas will be monitored. If anyone constructs a structure in the eviction area, there will be an eviction operation. There will be separate equipment for the team. The members of the special team will identify and report to the chief cleaning officer if any roads and footpaths are encroached upon in the entire city. After that, the operation will be conducted through the mobile court. No illegal occupiers shall be allowed on sidewalks and streets. No matter how big or strong, we will evict. Determined to restore the beauty of the city.
Chattogram City Mayor wants to restore the beauty of the city by freeing the roads and footpaths from illegal encroachments. The eviction drive has recently been intensified. According to CCC sources, special clothes and shoes are being procured for the team. At present the work of designing the clothes is going on. They will have separate safety equipment and materials used in evacuation operations. 20 workers of the cleaning department have been selected for the striking force. Those who are young in age and have a healthy or fit body.
As per the list, the equipment includes- standard clothing and shoes for 20 people (safety shoes), 10 hammers, 2 hammer drills (jack hammers), 20 hammers, 10 hammers, industrial gloves, 20 head helmets, four cutters, 2 electric Plus, 10 shovels, 10 spades, 5 saws, 5 axes, 2 wood and iron saws, 10 eye safety glasses and 2 hand mics for convenient recording.
After the evacuation, we are marking the sidewalks and road areas. Occupants are subsequently warned not to enter marked areas or onto roads and footpaths.
The striking force will be patrolled and marker to prevent these reoccupations. The members of the striking force will cooperate with the regular workers during the eviction operation. It will have ward-wise allocated workers. As a result, it will be convenient to conduct any large-scale evacuation operations.
