The mayoral and councilor aspirants will begin their official campaign on January 8 for the upcoming Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), to be held on January 27.
The CCC election office also instructed the candidates to remove all polls campaign materials including leaflets, posters, banners, diaries, billboards and gates within the 72 hours beginning on Tuesday. CCC Election Returning Officer Hasanuzzaman has already requested the CEO of Chahatobga City Corporation to help remove the election materials.
Meanwhile, a new schedule was announced for four CCC wards since those fell vacant following the death of the respective councillors.
Candidates in those four wards will be allotted symbols on January 8.
