CCC mobile court reclaims sidewalks, fines 13 people

A drive was conducted in the city on Monday under the initiative of a mobile court of Chattogram City Corporation. CCC Executive Magistrate Marufa Begum Nelly conducted the operation. During the drive, Popular Diagnostic Center Limited was fined Tk 30,000 for occupying the footpath of the road in front of Chattogram Medical and creating obstruction to movement and Tk 9,000 against 3 persons for enlarging the front of the shop and occupying the footpath and littering on the footpath.  A case was registered against 3 shop owners on Sadarghat Road for the crime of selling meat in the metropolitan area on Meat less Day and a fine of Tk 10,000 was imposed.

  City Mayor's Private Secretary and CCC Acting Chief Clean Officer Muhammad Abul Hashem participated in the operation.

 Special Magistrate Manisha Mahajan imposed a fine of Tk 16,000 on 6 persons for obstructing movement by occupying the sidewalks and road sections on both sides of Badurtala, Kapasgola, Telipatti roads in Bahaddarhat area of the city and leaving shop goods and construction materials and at the same time fined Tk 16,000.  Illegal encroachment is vacated.  During the operation, the officers and employees of the concerned departments of the City Corporation and Chattogram Metropolitan Police provided assistance to the magistrates.
