Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Freedom Fighter Md. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury inaugurated the construction work of one bridge and three footover bridges at a cost of Tk 15.35 crore on Tuesday.
The mayor said that bridges, footover bridges and roads are being constructed to modernize and secure the communication system from the heart of the city to the peripheral areas.
We are rescuing roads, footpaths and drains from illegal encroachers.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we are working to turn Chittagong to a hub of world trade.
The footbridges will be constructed at GEC junction at a cost of Tk 5.48 crore, 85 feet long footbridge to be constructed at the cost of Tk 1.73 crore at Cantonment Public School and College road junction in Jalalabad ward No. 2, and another one at Kaptai Road junction at a cost of Tk 1 crore.
85 feet long footbridge at the cost of Tk 36 lakh and 131 feet long Osmania PC girder bridge at Mohra ward No. 5 at the cost of Tk 6.78 crore.
CCC Panel Mayor Gias Uddin, Councillor Md Morshed Alam, Shahed Iqbal Babu, Abul Hasnat Md Belal, Kazi Nurul Amin, Jasmine Parveen, Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam Manik, Superintending Engineer Jasim Uddin, Executive Engineer Ashiqul Islam, Rifatul Karim were present.
