CCC given cheque of Tk 5 crore by CWASA for road cutting

Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury recieved a cheque of Tk 5 crore for the city's road cutting from Chittagong WASA Managing Director AKM Fazlullah. 

 While accepting the cheque, Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that Chattogram City Corporation's relationship with Chattogram Wasa is close and complementary to each other, Chattogram City Corporation will provide necessary support to the plan undertaken by Chattogram Wasa for sanitation of Sewerage Project Page-2.

He said, WASA authorities are implementing many projects to meet the water needs of the city.  

However, the population in many areas is still deprived of clean water.  The mayor expressed hope that Chattogram WASA will take measures to take the matter seriously.

He said this while handing over a check of 5 crore rupees for cutting the city's road, Chattogram Wasa Managing Director AKM Fazlullah in the mayor's room of CCC building near Tigerpass on Sunday morning.

 Meanwhile, the panel included Mayor Md. Ghiyas Uddin, Councilor Abdus Salam Masum, Shahed Iqbal Babu, Abul Hasnat Md. Belal, Pulak Khastgir, Md. Safiqul Islam, Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam, Mayor's Private Secretary Muha­mmad Abul Hashem, WASA Supervising Engineer Md. Ariful Islam and concerned engineers were present.

 CCC Mayor said that the project to remove man-made waste from houses has been taken with the cooperation of World Bank.  He said that the CCC would provide full cooperation to the CWASA authorities in implementing it.  41 wards of the city are divided into 6 zones under this project.  

If the project is implemented, the water of Kornaphuli River and sea will be free from pollution.

Chattogram WASA Managing Director AKM Fazlullah assured the CCC Mayor that there will be no problem in water supply in Chattogram city early next year after checking technical faults and testing.
