CCC fines 14 traders for opening shop in lockdown

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) conducted mobile court drives in different areas of the city including Kadamtali Junction, Dewanhat, Agrabad, Alangkar Junction and City Gate areas on Saturday.

At the time, 14 traders were fined Tk 2,400 for keeping shops open and not following health rules amid the ongoing nationwide lockdown.

The drive was led by CCC Executive Magistrate Marufa Begum Nelly and Special Magistrate (Joint District and Sessions Judge) Jahanara Ferdous.

Executive Magistrate Marufa Begum Nelly said masks were distributed as well as public awareness campaigns were conducted.  The campaigns and awareness activities conducted by CCC to prevent corona infection will continue in future as well, she added.

 Officers and employees of the concerned department of CCC were present during the drive. Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) provided overall support to the mobile court.
